Dear Brothers and Sisters,As we mark 25 years since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, we remember the thousands of lives that were lost and thecountless families whose lives were forever changed.

For our IBEW Local 1049 family, September 11th is deeply personal. On that day, we lost one of our own-Brother Andrew BrianJordan, Sr.

Andrew was a dedicated Journeyman Lineman and member of IBEW Local 1049 who answered the call to serve as a New YorkCity firefighter with FDNY Ladder Company 132 in Brooklyn. He remained a proud member of our Local while serving with theFDNY, carrying with him the same commitment to service, brotherhood and helping others. On September 11th, Andrew respondedto the World Trade Center, where he gave his life while working to save his fellow New Yorkers. He was only 36 years old.

Andrew was more than a name we remember each September. He was a husband, a father, a brother, a union brother and afriend. His family includes his brother, Thomas Jordan, a fellow IBEW Local 1049 utility lineman.

I also had the privilege of knowing Andrew personally. He was a friend of mine and a friend to many within our Local who stillremember him today. His courage, dedication and willingness to serve others represent the very best of who we are as union members and as New Yorkers.

As Business Manager of Local 1049, I believe it is our responsibility to make sure Andrew's story continues to be told and that hissacrifice is never forgotten.

I encourage you to take a moment to watch the special video message we have prepared in Andrew's memory and to reflect on his life, service and sacrifice.

At our General Meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 15th at 6:00 p.m., we will dedicate a special portion of the meeting to honoring Andrew and his legacy. We will also remember our other IBEW brothers and sisters whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001.

The meeting will be held at the IBEW Local 1049 Union Hall, 100 Corporate Drive, Holtsville, NY 11742. Food will be served, andI encourage all of our members to join us as we come together as a Brotherhood to remember Brother Andrew Jordan.

Twenty-five years have passed, but our commitment to remembering Andrew has not. His service, his sacrifice and his place withinthe Local 1049 family will never be forgotten.
