IBEW 1049 MEMBERS Contract Approval
After months of negotiations, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1049 is pleased to announce that it has accepted the most recent contract offer from National Grid.
Statement from IBEW 1049 Business Manager Pat Guidice:
"From the moment that negotiations started, the well-being of our membership was our foremost priority. This offer was the first one we were able to endorse, as we felt it struck a fair balance that also improved pay and benefit costs. We're pleased to see that our membership voted in favor of the new deal so they can go about their duties without the looming pressures of a possible strike."

Leadership Transition at IBEW Local 1049
At the June 11th Executive Board Meeting, Recording Secretary Thomas Dowling announced his resignation, effective June 19, 2024. Brother Dowling has faithfully served our union for over 35 years, contributing significantly in roles such as union steward, governmental affairs leader, and charity advocate. His dedication and commitment to excellence will be greatly missed.
The Executive Board has unanimously appointed Anthony Scotto as the new Recording Secretary, effective July 1, 2024. We are confident in Anthony's abilities and look forward to his leadership.
