Happy Thanksgiving.  What a joyous time of the year.  We are all looking forward to spending time with our families and friends.  Yet, it is so easy for each of us to forget those who are unfortunate and in need of holiday cheer. You can help by contributing to the Long Island United Way.  Your weekly pledge can do so much to help a family in need.  Several weeks ago Business Manager Shand spoke of our long time support of the United Way at the National Grid United Way Captains kick-off meeting and spoke about how proud he is of our members who, even in this economically difficult time, come through year in and year out to support children and families in our communities who need our help.

Please continue to make our local union a shining star in the Long Island community and if you have not filled out your pledge form do it today.  If you still haven't received a pledge form from your 1049 Captain, please call the Union Office or Director Ellen Redmond at 631-234-1800, and we will forward one to you.  Please do it today as our campaign ends November 30, 2010.
